The 2025 Suzhou Global Investment Promotion Conference with the theme of “Invest in Suzhou for a Win-win Future” kicked off at the Suzhou International Expo Center on Apr. 26. The event witnessed the signing of 417 projects, with a total investment of 341.57 billion yuan.
At the conference, the Global Industry Innovation Partnership Initiative was launched. Kunshan Economic Development Zone was granted the honorary plaque of “Cluster of Foreign-funded Headquarters Economy in Jiangsu”.
This year’s conference has set up sub-venues in Australia, Germany, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. Those who attended the meeting at the main venue included diplomatic envoys from 10 countries, officials from relevant state ministries and commissions and government departments of Jiangsu Province, city leaders of Suzhou, as well as representatives from Fortune Global 500 companies, China’s top 500 companies, the top 5 companies in their respective industries, global unicorn companies, well-known business associations, investment firms, and financial institutions.
Official data show that in 2024, Suzhou’s GDP reached 2.67 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%, ranking first among the cities in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region. The added value of the city’s industrial enterprises above the designated size reached 4.7 trillion yuan and the actual utilized foreign capital was 5.175 billion US dollars.
A total of 367 projects were signed at the first Suzhou Global Investment Promotion Conference held in 2024. So far, 70.8% of them have started construction and 34.8% of the industrial projects have been put into production.
