As the world’s largest cargo ship for vehicles, the “BYD SHENZHEN” was delivered and set sail from Jiangsu’s Yizheng City on Apr. 22 and arrived at Taicang Port on Apr. 25. The 219.9-meter-long and 37.7-meter-wide auto carrier has 16 decks, 4 of which are movable, and it can accommodate up to 9,200 cars. In addition, the LNG dual-fuel ship has adopted a series of cutting-edge green technologies to effectively improve its energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Data from Taicang Customs show that in the first quarter of this year, 147,600 vehicles were exported from Taicang Port, an increase of 18.35% year-on-year, of which 58,500 vehicles were exported to the countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative, up by 3.06%.
