The 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, also known as Auto Shanghai 2025, recently opened in Shanghai. At the exhibition, the 2-ton eVTOL aircraft from AutoFlight, a leading flying car manufacturer in Kunshan’s Dianshanhu Town, attracted wide attention with its safety, high reliability, zero carbon emissions, and low noise.
This eVTOL aircraft which has a composite wing structure can take off and land vertically like a helicopter and cruise like a fixed-wing aircraft at a speed of up to 200 kilometers per hour. Its cargo version has a payload capacity of 400 kilograms, while its passenger version can carry up to five people, achieving a balance between payload and range.
AutoFlight is one of the earliest sci-tech enterprises in China engaged in the research, development and production of eVTOL aircrafts. It has witnessed rapid growth since its settlement in Dianshanhu Town, Kunshan City in 2022. The eVTOL aircraft independently developed by AutoFlight has not only completed cross-Yangtze River, cross-sea and cross-city flights at home but also completed flights abroad in the Middle East and Japan.
Dianshanhu Town is making all-out efforts to seize the opportunities of the low-altitude economy and actively participate in the construction of a pilot zone for green aviation. It will build a number of low-altitude aircraft take-off and landing sites, explore low-altitude application scenarios in such fields as urban transportation and low-altitude cultural tourism, and accelerate the construction of the green aviation industrial park, so as to build itself into a “low-altitude economy town” with a certain influence in the Yangtze River Delta region.
